This mother birdie with a china fragment wing stands on an antique key under a tree of copper leaves waiting for her wee chicks first flight, With tinned beaks, china wings and brass twirled and beaded tails, they make a charming family scene.
I love late Spring when all the trees are finally in leaf full of little nesting families. Being a mother of two adventurous boys I can empathise with the mother on the ground looking up at her chicks first flight.
